Join Our Veterinary Team

Wise Owl Animal Hospital is currently seeking licensed veterinarians to join our amazing staff full time and/or on a relief basis! The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator, enjoys engaging with clients and peers to provide the best client and patient care available and open to learning from the other veterinarians on the team. Surgical skills, exotics, ultrasound or military experience a plus. He or she will work in our general practice clinic providing high-quality care to our patients, educating clients, and performing surgeries. The clinic is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including digital radiography, laser therapy machine and new diagnostic equipment.
Essential Job Responsibilities:

See appointments and perform medical casework and treatments.

Examines, treats and consults client animals

Adheres to established policies and procedures
-
Perform surgeries, including spays and neuters.

Educate clients on the proper care of animals.

Maintain records properly.
-
Be available on-call as assigned by the Practice Manager.

Ensures that proper medication and treatment is administered by veterinary staff as directed
-
Works cooperatively with the veterinary clinic manager and staff in the development and implementation of goals, policies and procedures related to the veterinary practices of the veterinary clinic

Meet regularly with the Chief Medical Officer, the Practice Manager and other managers to discuss hospital policies and individual cases.

Attend and assist with sponsored community events.

Attend continuing education meetings.

In-house equipment includes ultrasound, critical care monitoring equipment, isolation ward, and fully equipped surgical suites

Working with state-of-the-art equipment including, but not limited to; digital radiography and Kacey Diagnostic instruments.

Other duties as required
Skills & Competencies:
-
Excellent surgical skills, including, but not limited to, spay/neuter, dentistry and soft-tissue.

Ability to balance medical and financial priorities with the clients of the veterinary clinic.

Ability to work independently, exercise good clinical judgment, provide supervisory support of technical staff and use diplomacy and tact in dealing with internal and external customers

Knowledge of preventive medicine
-
Familiarity with Clientrax software a plus.
Qualifications & Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and task satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited college or university

Possession of a current license to practice veterinary medicine

Customer service experience.

Available to work weekends, holiday shifts, and evenings.

Knowledge of animal breeds and behavior helpful.
Training
Wise Owl Animal Care is dedicated to keeping a certified staff, highly-trained and knowledgable in the most recent practices of traditional and integrative veterinary medicine. Our employees take part in monthly continuing edication sessions, trainings and meetings. Veterinarians are expected to take part in and lead these trainings.
