After-Hours Consultation
An after-hours consultation allows our clients to speak with a member of our team about a potential emergency situation. Wise Owl Animal Hospital offers after-hours consultations during non-working hours.
⚠️ Please note: A consult fee will be charged for after-hours calls to speak with a nurse. Be sure to listen carefully to the phone prompts when you call to ensure you are connected properly.

What is an Emergency?
The easiest way to know if you should seek emergency care for your pet is if you feel their medical condition is serious and cannot wait. The following situations can help you determine if your pet needs emergency veterinary care:
Common Emergencies (Part 1)
- Difficulty breathing
- Acute abdominal swelling
- Electric shock
- Excessive vomiting or diarrhea
- Bleeding
Common Emergencies (Part 2)
- Symptoms of heat stroke
- Seizures
- Sudden onset of weakness/collapse
- High or low temperature (more than 104°F or less than 100°F)
- Unable to urinate or defecate
