Laser Therapy

What is Laser Therapy?

Laser therapy is a surgery-free, drug-free, noninvasive treatment that helps:

  • Reduce pain
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Accelerate healing

At Wise Owl Animal Hospital, we use a Class IV Deep Tissue Laser to deliver light energy that penetrates deep into tissues without causing damage. This process, called photobiomodulation, stimulates cells to heal from within—promoting recovery, reducing inflammation, and easing discomfort.

How Does It Work?

Laser therapy works by stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities. During treatment, laser light is delivered through a handheld device directly to the affected area. Each session takes approximately 3–8 minutes, depending on the condition.

Non-thermal photons are absorbed by injured cells, which react with an increased metabolism and circulation. The result? Faster recovery, pain relief, and reduced inflammation.

Your pet may feel a warm, soothing sensation during treatment. Most pets relax and enjoy the process!

Each treatment plan is tailored to your pet’s specific condition, and laser therapy can be safely used alongside other treatments.
