Laser Therapy

What is Laser Therapy?

Laser therapy is a surgery free, drug free, noninvasive treatment to:

  • Reduce Pain
  • Reduce Inflammation
  • Increase Speed of Healing

Wise Owl Animal Hospital has invested in a Class IV Deep Tissue Laser Therapy machine which uses a beam of laser light to deeply penetrate tissue without damaging it.  Laser energy induces a biological response in the cells called "photo-bio-modulation," which leads to reduced pain, reduced inflammation and increased healing speed in animals.

How does it work?

Laser therapy stimulates the body to heal from within. The laser light is delivered through a noninvasive hand piece to treat the affected area. Non-thermal photons of light are administered to the body for about 3 to 8 minutes and absorbed by the injured cells.  The cells are then stimulated and respond with a higher rate of metabolism. This results in relief from pain, increased circulation, reduced inflamation and an acceleration of the healing process.

Your pet may feel a gentle and soothing warmth. Treatment protocols are unique to each patient and condition. Most treatments take a matter of minutes and can be used to enhance other treatment plans.
